St. James Episcopal Church

200 W High Street, Piqua, OH 45356

The parish of this church was formally organized in 1823. In 1847 John Johnston, the son of Col. Johnston, donated the lot on the corner of Wayne and High Streets where architects Wing and Mahurin of Ft. Wayne designed the structure in the Norman Style and it was built by contractors Morrow and Morrow of Muncie, IN. A major renovation of the nave and chancel was carried out in 1961 and in 1999 the interior was completely redecorated.
