This house was built in 1877 for Charles E Yager, a railroad ticket agent and in 1909, Yager sold to commercial printer Henry Kampf. In 1920 the house was sold to George W Hartzell, president of Piqua Walnut Mill and Hartzell Propeller (later known as Hartzell Industries), George and his wife Deborah Norris Hartzell resided there until 1940 when Raymond and Frances Blayney bought the home. Raymond was the Hartzell Industries mill superintendent and later a vice president and after Raymond passed, Frances remained in the home until the 1970 when it was sold to Gene and Melany Benning. Gene was the president of the Benning Construction Company.
