Location
629 Caldwell St
Architecture
English Tutor Revival
Established
1910
This English Tutor Revival home was built in 1910 for Mr. Hartley, an executive at the Atlas Underwear Company by Dayton architect Harvey Hiestand (the same architect as the Flesh Mansion). However, Hartley was transferred before he ever got to live in the house and it was sold to Harvey Simms who lived in the home with his family until his death at age 79. The home still holds lots of it’s original features including thick beams in the living room ceiling, unpainted wood work, picture frame hardwood floors, lead glass windows, and a beautiful arts and crafts style staircase.
